Our Team

Doug Miskew

DougDoug has more than two decades of experience in government relations, marketing and public affairs. Prior to founding the Public Sector Group, he spent eight years with North Carolina communications firm Capstrat, serving as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs. Doug spent eight years on Capitol Hill as a senior staff member of the U.S. House of Representatives serving Representatives Cass Ballenger (R-NC) and Mel Hancock (R-MO) and focusing on health care, technology, taxation, transportation and international trade.

He later put his government experience to work in the corporate sector. For five years, Doug worked as a government relations, communications and marketing professional for IBM. At IBM he led government relations and communications efforts for public sector industry groups, and managed federal and state government relations in a 15-state region.

Doug has led numerous public affairs campaigns and government relations initiatives in North Carolina and across the country. At the Public Sector Group, he has helped clients land government contracts, stop harmful regulations and enact legislation in an effort to help clients succeed in their public sector objectives.  


Anna Roberts


Anna

Anna has spent a dozen years in the communications and public affairs industry in North Carolina, most recently as the communications director for then-Speaker of the NC House Thom Tillis (now NC’s junior U.S. Senator) where she worked closely with the leadership of the Legislative and Executive Branches. She also fielded daily state and national press inquiries pertaining to the range of issues pending before the NC General Assembly and prepped House leaders for interviews and press events.

In recent years, Anna has also served in public service roles as a team member on Governor McCrory’s 2012 Department of Transportation Transition Team and as a NC Senate appointment to the E-NC Authority in 2011.

Prior to working at the Legislature, Anna has worked for several NC public affairs firms supporting and leading clients with crisis communications, media relations and messaging strategies on issues ranging from education, health care, international trade and energy. She also built grassroots coalitions to influence statewide and congressional public affairs issues based on client needs.


Frank Hill

Frank-Hill

Frank has extensive government experience as a Chief of Staff for two prominent North Carolina Members of Congress. After running for Congress in 1984, Frank became chief of staff to long-time Congressman Alex McMillan of Charlotte. Frank worked on health care, budget and tax issues while serving as the Budget Associate on the House Budget Committee.

During his time with Congressman McMillan, Frank worked closely with the Charlotte City Council, building a strong relationship with former mayor and current Governor, Pat McCrory. After McMillan’s retirement in 1994, Frank joined the Congressman’s investment firm.

In 2002, Frank was asked to be the debate coach/policy prep director of Elizabeth Dole’s Senate campaign against Erskine Bowles. Frank played the role of Erskine Bowles in close to 20 mock debate sessions. After her election, Senator Dole asked Frank to be her first chief of staff as she took the seat held by Senator Jesse Helms for the preceding 32 years. After leaving Senator Dole, Frank joined a leading North Carolina public affairs firm.
